ABOUT WFW
WashingtonFilmWorks (WFW) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (6) organization formed pursuant to 2SSB6558, prime sponsored by Senator Lisa Brown of Spokane and passed by the 2006 Washington State Legislature. Its mission is to promote economic vitality in Washington State by encouraging growth in the film and video production industry and to help ensure that Washington state re-emerges on the national and international scene as a premiere destination for motion picture production.
The organization offers funding assistance of up to 20% of total in-state Qualified Expenditures (including labor and talent who are Washington state residents) to commercial, television and feature film productions selected to be funded by WFW. There is a $1M cap on funding assistance for each production. In order to qualify for funding assistance, the production company must meet the following in-state spending thresholds:
• $500,000 Feature Films
• $300,000 Television
• $150,000 Commercials
Financial contributions to WFW raised by the tax credit mechanism are capped at $3.5 million per calendar year. For more detailed information about contributing to the fund please visit the section of this website.
