5.28.2011 Legislative Alert - Seattle Area Legislative De-Brief

May 28, 2011

We wanted to write and let the film community know that the Board of Directors and Staff of Washington Filmworks met earlier this week to discuss next steps for the film industry in Washington State. The Board will meet several times in the coming weeks to discuss possibilities and we will update you as plans develop.

For those of you in Seattle, please join us for the premiere screening of the Fly Filmmaking Challenge on Monday, May 30 at 4:30 pm at the Egyptian Theatre. Washington Filmworks is proud to have produced this year's Challenge for the Seattle International Film Festival. After the screening, the Board of Directors and Staff of Washington Filmworks invite you to join them for an informal gathering at Boom Noodle on Capital Hill (1112 East Pike Street, between 11th / 12th). At Boom Noodle we will celebrate the success of the Fly Filmmakers and be available for a de-brief about the 2011 legislative session. If you are unable to attend the premiere screening of the Fly Films, please consider joining us anyway! We should arrive at Boom Noodle at 6:00 pm.

Look forward to seeing you there.

We want to sincerely thank the film community for the amazing support during this legislative session.  Washington Filmworks believes that all possible efforts were made to pass the legislation and that your voices were heard in Olympia.

Stay tuned for additional updates.
