Annual Industry Update
On December 1 WashingtonFilmWorks invited members of the community to attend the Annual Industry Update at the Northwest Film Forum.  This informative event highlights the successes of 2009 and outlines the top initiatives for the organization in 2010.  Executive Director Amy Lillard Dee talked at length about the increased amount of production throughout the state and announced that the organization had to date committed $4.6M this calendar year which represents an estimated $18.9M in direct spend in Washington state.  Amy also revealed the new WashingtonFilmWorks logo and website (going live early 2010), and announced a new partnership with Media Inc. to redesign a new more functional online crew database.  The presentation ended with a call to action urging the local industry to partner with WashingtonFilmWorks on advocating for the renewal of the 30% cash-back incentive fund, which sunsets in 2011.  To review the presentation from the event please visit  http://washingtonfilmworks.org/news.html
