Scouting Washington
February has been a busy month of script reading and location scouting. Executive Director Amy Lillard Dee and Production Services Manger Lindsey Johnson hosted a former Academy Award nominated director and scouted some of Seattle's urban areas for an upcoming thriller. The office has also been reading a number of scripts that are set up for late spring and early summer.
Washington Filmworks: Staying Connected
In order to become acquainted with statewide liaisons, Washington Filmworks visits regions across the state to tour locations and experience what's happening in other communities. Vancouver, Washington (as seen on the MSNBC.com) was Lindsey and Amy's regional visit for this quarter. They scouted some of Vancouver's most unique areas like Fort Vancouver, Officer's Row, and the Waterfront. They met with the Vancouver film liaison, Rosemary Cooke and local producers. And since they were so close to Portland, Amy and Lindsey had an opportunity to meet with the Oregon Film Commissioner Vince Porter. Regional visits in the past have included Bellingham and the Olympic Peninsula.
