Gavin Sullivan

As Founder and Principal Madrona Bureau (MB), Gavin P. Sullivan has both written and executive produced critically acclaimed feature documentary, TV, and commercial work. Under MB he has written and produced feature documentary films: ARGENTINA FUTBOL CLUB (Premiere, Havana Film Festival. Special Jury Award, IFFI Goa International Film Festival), HUSKY LOYAL (PBS), and produced and directed MANIFEST JUSTICE (PBS, Emmy Nominated), FLAT TOWN (Premiere, New Orleans Film Festival), OUT OF THE FIRE (PBS, Emmy Winner), 16 LIVES (Emmy Winner), as well as the current affairs TV series, Inside Outlook (NBC, NWCN), which Sullivan produced, directed and hosted. He is the recipient of three Emmy Awards (NATAS).

To pay the bills, MB has built out a healthy and diverse portfolio of commercial clients. Past work includes the creative development and production of branded content for Apple, Samsung, United Farm Workers, Sub-Pop Records, Starbucks, City Year, KEXP and a slew of state and national political campaigns, as well as pro-bono work for community based foundations and non-profit organizations.

Gavin’s approach to visual media and writing is informed by over a decade of experience as a Senior Reporter with the Financial Times Group (FT & MM) where he held correspondent posts in Latin America (Buenos Aires, Bogotá) and the US (Pacific Northwest). His beat ranged from high finance to political economy, and its very real impacts on the human condition. Gavin is a former Rotary World Peace Fellow and US Fulbright Scholar.
