Darren Coyote Sarkin is a video artist working at the intersection of narrative filmmaking, and experimental visual storytelling. Through their company, Wingspeak Productions, they create works that blend humor and emotional intimacy to explore identity, transformation, and our relationship to the natural world.

Coyote is the creator of SeaTrip, a video and art project that unfolds across musical-comedy episodes and art installations. Part comedy, part fantasy biopic, SeaTrip draws from Coyote’s life as a perpetual outsider. The series follows an anxious, alienated protagonist who begins to find wholeness, community, and purpose after transforming into a mermaid. Rooted in a surreal queer mythology, SeaTrip uses fantasy to examine environmental collapse and metamorphosis. Its current art installation, Merlantis, expands this universe into a civilization built from sculpture, projection, sound, beauty, and trash.

Born in London to hippy cult parents and raised nomadically, Coyote has long lived between categories. Now based in Seattle, they identify as queer, polyamorous, and non-binary. Living in between has become both their subject and methodology, fostering compassion, and curiosity. Coyote aims to create experiences that invite audiences to laugh, feel unsettled, and reflect on how we care for one another and for the Earth.
