Funding projects creatively driven by Washington residents.

After a successful Film Day 2020, Washington Filmworks is pleased to announce that the new 2020 application window for Local Lens is now officially open!

Last March, Washington Filmworks introduced Local Lens, the first production incentive program in the country to reserve its funding exclusively for projects that are creatively driven by Washington residents.

This groundbreaking new funding strategy is designed to maximize the impact of the funds in the production incentive program and invest in our local creative community.

In 2019, Washington Filmworks financially supported 4 projects, all of which were produced by women filmmakers that are Washington State residents. Productions filmed in diverse locations across Washington State including Spokane, Vantage, Wenatchee, Ellensburg, Goldbar, Snoqualmie, and Seattle.

Application Window

On January 21, the application window opened and all fully funded projects can apply up to 120 days prior to the start of production.

Prior to submitting an application, please read the full Guidelines & Criteria and review the application. If you have questions after reviewing these materials, please email us at: Info@WashigntonFilmworks.org.
