So much talent graced the stage of the Moore Theatre for the 2016 Stranger Genius Awards this year that it was hard to keep track. There was longtime artist Barbara Earl Thomas, literary wunderkind Lindy West, and multitalented producer and musician Erik Blood, all who were among the winners in art, literature, and music. This year, all three nominees for film: filmmaker and entrepreneur Sandy Cioffi, all-around film industry dynamo Mel Eslyn, and indigenous activist and Innovation Lab recipient Tracy Rector have all worked with Washington Filmworks in some capacity.
