Washington Filmworks (WF) is excited to announce the return of the Filmworks Innovation Lab. The next application window is slated to open in August 2014!
WF extends our congratulations to two local talents in the world of filmmaking and photography who were recently honored by Indian Country Today Media Network for their forward thinking, innovation, and sense of social justice.
WF has received many inquiries as to when we will begin accepting applications for the Innovation Lab. We are currently working with the filmmakers from the inaugural cycles to help them complete principal photography as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the program.
Washington Filmworks is pleased to announce that The Maury Island Incident, a short film chronicling a 1947 UFO sighting over the Puget Sound, has wrapped principal photography. From late June through early July, filming took place in Burien, Des Moines, Tukwilla and the waters off of Maury Island.
Applicants participating in the Film Cycle of the Filmworks Innovation Lab are nearing their next hurdle in the process. Detailed Information Packages are due to WF via email by 11:59 PM Thursday April 4, 2013. Please email to Lab@washingtonfilmworks.org

In late 2012, Washington Filmworks committed funding assistance to five projects helmed by emerging Washington filmmakers through the inaugural Film Cycle of the Filmworks Innovation Lab. Tony Fulgham’s Box Walk is the first of those projects to go into production.
