Aaron hails from Lynden, WA and has spent the majority of his career serving as a middle school and high school music teacher and principal. He has a passion for increasing student engagement through Project-Based-Learning, which emphasizes rigorous content plus the success skills needed for the 21st century. His interest in filmmaking was sparked in 2014 after taking some classes at the NW Film Center in Portland, OR. A few years later, his connection with country music icon Loretta Lynn and her dressmaker of 40 years, Tim Cobb, led to the opportunity to capture their story in a documentary still under production. Aaron is excited to be a part of the Education Forum and is looking forward to learning as much as he can to help move Loving Loretta (working title) closer to completion and to tell stories about the impact and contributions people in the LGBTQ+ community have made in country music.
