Carlos Jesus Fernandez is a humanitarian and producer who calls Seattle his home. A Mexican, born in the United States and raised in sub-Saharan Africa. He is a world citizen devoted to making human-centered films that combine global causes with their local effects. His lived experience is integral not just to his storytelling or work ethic but to his entire way of life. He believes in nurturing connections by celebrating differences and harnessing all forms of diversity to achieve goals. Equally important is that he makes sure he has fun doing it. Carlos’ credits include: Co-director of “We Are Reckless,” a #VanishingSeattle documentary short that intimately documents the bittersweet final month of the last family-owned video store in Seattle. Producer of “In The Water,” a coming-of-age drama that won the Best Drama Short Award at the 2023 Poulsbo Film Festival and has 1.6 million views on Film Shortage’s YouTube channel. Producer of “Dale’s Killer Car Deals,” a short horror film shot on 8mm that won the Best Filmmakers Choice Award at the 2024 Georgetown Super8 Film Festival.
