Melissa is the Northern Business Agent of the I.A.T.S.E. Local 488, Studio Mechanics of the Pacific Northwest. She is a Seattle Film Commissioner, in Position 2, representing film industry labor unions, and currently sits on the King County Executives Film Advisory Board (EFAB).
Prior to being elected to business Agent, she worked as a prop master in the commercial advertising, television, and feature film industry. Her credits as a Prop Master include Rushmore, Forces of Nature, The Details, Nightjohn, and Smoke Signals, to name just a few.
She is a strong proponent of social justice and workers’ rights and is passionate about advocating for Local 488 members and the film industry as an economic driver and job creator.
