Keep Film In WA FactsWASHINGTON FILMWORKS LAUNCHES 2016 KEEP FILM IN WA CAMPAIGN

Get Involved TODAY

Over the past weekend, Executive Director Amy Lillard announced at the Seattle Film Summit and a Happy Hour event in Spokane the official launch of the 2016 Keep Film in WA Campaign. We are pleased to share the news that Washington Filmworks along with a coalition of industry partners will be pursuing legislation in the 2016 legislative session that would increase funding for the production incentive program and extend the sunset date of the program.

While final details about the bill are not yet available, there are four ways you can get involved NOW:

NEW Keep Film in WA Petition
We are asking film professionals and supporters across the state to sign the 2016 Keep Film in WA petition encouraging elected officials to increase funding for the production incentive program.
***Even if you signed onto the petition last year, you MUST sign it again to be added to the 2016 petition.

NEW Business Letter of Support
Last year we had over 260 Washington businesses sign onto our Business Letter of Support. We’ve updated the letter this year and we are looking to add to that number!  If you own a business (or work with a business) that supports the film industry, please sign onto our NEW Business Letter of Support.

Business owners can sign onto the letter by sending an email to Info@WashingtonFilmworks.org.
***Even if you signed onto the business letter of support last year, you MUST sign it again to be added to the 2016 letter.

Legislative Districts
Make sure that Washington Filmworks knows your legislative district information so that we can keep you updated about your legislator’s support (or not) of Washington’s statewide film industry. Our goal is to identify film industry professionals in every district of Washington State. Know your legislator, know your district and make sure that your voice is heard!

Please share this information by filling out this survey.  Don’t know your legislative district number?  You can find it here.

Film Day in Olympia
Save the date for Film Day in Olympia on Thursday, January 21. Last year’s Film Day was a huge success, drawing over 300 film professionals and supporters that had the opportunity to meet with elected officials from their home districts.  Join us for this year’s event – more details are coming soon!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email Info@WashingtonFilmworks.org or call our office at 206-264-0667.

Thank you for your continued support – and let’s work to KEEP FILM IN WA!
