Following a whirlwind weekend, filled with passionate pitches, feedback sessions, and a much-needed reception, Washington Filmworks finally knows who will be awarded funding assistance from the first ever Film Cycle of the Filmworks Innovation Lab. The Board of Directors has approved the Jury’s recommendations, but we’re holding our cards for just a little longer, and will officially announce the outcome at our 12/12/12 Two-Part Party in Seattle. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate with the award recipients when the results are revealed that evening!
A Jury of three was chosen to represent all facets of the film industry, including physical production, story and structure, and marketing and distribution. All members share a deep understanding of the business of film in Washington State. The Jury spent significant time evaluating applications against program selection criteria, considering the creative merits of the proposals, and getting to know the Finalists.
The Innovation Lab was created in response to community requests for support for emerging local filmmakers. We wanted to introduce the Jury who made this inaugural process possible. Washington Filmworks extends our gratitude for their collective expertise, their contributions to the Innovation Lab, and their investment in the future of Washington film.
