Dear Film Community Professionals,
This year the Seattle International Film Festival will include a festival within the festival devoted to new modes of storytelling using Virtual Reality, 360° cinema and Augmented Reality. Called SIFFX, the four-day event takes place Thursday, June 2 – Sunday, June 5 at venues across the Seattle Center, including the SIFF Film Center and the Pacific Science Center Laser Dome.
As leaders championing the future of film in Seattle and Washington State, the City of Seattle’s Office of Film + Music and Washington Filmworks are always invested in efforts to bring new and emerging motion picture technologies to the state. That’s why we’re particularly excited to support a variety of programs and events at the inaugural SIFFX event.
SIFFX will provide a diversity of program experiences for creative professionals of all interests and experience levels.
- Don’t know anything about Virtual or Augmented Reality? Check out panels and events in the X Academy.
- Never worn a headset or experienced 360 content? Go see the VR/AR exhibits.
- Want to be inspired by some of the world’s leading content creators in the immersive technology world? Buy tickets to see Nonny de la Pena’s keynote address or take a look at the list of featured talks on the SIFFX Website.
Please take some time to check out the full program at SIFFX.net.
We are incredibly excited to be hosting this incredible storytelling event in Seattle – and we encourage you to come get inspired by the conversation. Our friends at SIFFX have offered our filmmaking community a 10% discount on weekend passes to the event. You can take advantage of this generous offer by sending an email to Natasha Hoover at SIFF (natasha.hoover@siff.net) with the subject line: SIFFX Pass.
We look forward to seeing you at SIFFX.
