AND…New WA Filmmaker Incentive Under Construction!

Washington Filmworks will open a preliminary application window for the standard production incentive program on Thursday, February 1, 2018. In our effort to give all qualified productions an opportunity to participate in this funding cycle, Washington Filmworks will open a short window where projects can submit preliminary information about their projects for consideration. See below for more details about what and how to submit an application.

In our ongoing effort to support the growth and sustainability of Washington’s film industry, we are pleased to announce that we are developing a Washington Filmmaker Incentive designed to assist resident filmmakers interested in applying for the standard production incentive program. While we will open the application window for the standard program on February 1, Washington Filmworks will retain significant funds to support this new program (which we intend to debut later this year.)

Submitting a Preliminary Application

All projects that are fully funded and plan to film during calendar year 2018 may submit an abridged application for consideration.

The abridged application will include the 7-page application document, the top sheet of the budget, and a letter from the applicant detailing why the project should be considered for funding assistance. After receiving the paperwork, the Washington Filmworks Board will review each project and invite those projects that represent the best economic development opportunities for the state to submit a full application.

The abridged application documents should be submitted to Executive Director Amy Lillard via email at Amy@WashingtonFilmworks.org no later than Thursday, February 15, 2018. Should you have any questions about the standard production incentive please review the Guidelines and Criteria here. If you have any further questions, please call our office (206.264.0667) or email Info@WashingtonFilmworks.org.

Please note that this application window is not for the Innovation Lab. For more information on the Innovation Lab visit our website here.
