Motion Graphic: Find Film in Every Corner of WA
Keep Film in WA, Keep Dollars in WA
If you’ve been to the theaters across Washington over the last few months, you may have seen the above motion graphic play during previews. This animated short was created to quickly and concisely demonstrate that you can find film in all four corners of Washington State, which explains why you can find film dollars spent in every single legislative district.
We want to keep the local film industry healthy, we want to keep business thriving, which means we need to continue to act to Keep Film in WA.
Many thanks to the SIFF Film Center, Northwest Film Forum, Central Cinema, The Grand Cinema, Pickford Film Center, The Magic Lantern Theatre, Garland Theater, Ark Lodge Cinemas, Bing Crosby Theater, and Capitol Theater for playing this short on your screens – you’ve played a great role in helping mobilize film professionals and film fans across the state!
CALL TO ACTION:
Share this video with your elected officials (you can find out who yours are here).
Urge them to move HB 2542 forward before this legislative session ends. HB 2542 is the bill to increase the funding for the Motion Picture Competitiveness Program (MPCP) and to extend its sunset date.
Tell them:
- Since 2007, film projects approved through the MPCP have brought in an estimated $109 million in direct, in-state spending.
- Over the past two years, projects approved for funding assistance through the MPCP have spent money in every single legislative district.
Ask your legislators to support the legislation to extend the sunset date and increase the funding for the Motion Picture Competitiveness Program during this legislative session.
Act now to Keep Film in WA!
