Lights, camera, election! For those in the statewide film industry and, specifically, the acting community, SAG-AFTRA Seattle Local is coming off of an exciting and successful local election. We are pleased to report that local actor Rik Deskin has won the election and took office as the President of SAG-AFTRA Seattle Local!
“I’m very pleased to continue the work that I have been doing for SAG-AFTRA Seattle Local members and the film community at large, and now with greater authority,” says Deskin. “My responsibilities as the SAG-AFTRA Seattle Local President not only include Washington but also Alaska, Idaho and Montana, so I will be connecting with those communities as well. I want to improve the profile of SAG-AFTRA in our community and dispel the notion that actors and broadcasters should not be part of the union.”
SAG-AFTRA represents 160,000 actors and performers – these onscreen talent are an instrumental part of the statewide film industry and we applaud Rik and his colleagues for their fantastic contributions.
