On July 1, the producers of the Washington Filmworks (WF) incentive feature film, Laggies, invited WF and Washington State Senators and Representatives for a set visit. The legislators were able to watch the filming of key scenes in the movie at Chihuly Garden and Glass in the Seattle Center, allowing them to witness first-hand the economic impact of production.
Special thanks to Representative Reuven Carlyle (Seattle 36th District), Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles (Seattle 36th District), and Representative Ed Orcutt (Kalama 20th District) for their time. The trio was in attendance along with Washington Filmworks Board Members Becky Bogard, Abby Dylan and Norma Straw, and Executive Director, Amy Lillard.
Laggies wrapped principal photography in Seattle this month and is directed by Lynn Shelton (Touchy Feely, Your Sister’s Sister). The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Dark Shadows, Hugo) Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride & Prejudice) and Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2, Moon). Watch for it in 2014.
