Washington Filmworks is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has approved funding assistance for the feature film Boon.

2021 Application Window Remains Open

A neo-western action thriller, the film tells the story of Boon, an assassin on the run from his former boss. Boon is living a life of solitude in the mountains of Washington State when his past nearly catches up to him. Lucky for Boon, he is saved by the most unlikely pair. The film stars Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger) and is currently filming in Eastern Washington.

In response to community conversations, the Board of Directors has also voted to suspend Local Lens. “Our top priority at Washington Filmworks is to support the creation of family-wage jobs that provide health and retirement benefits for our local workers,” said Executive Director Amy Lillard. “With production shutting down across the United States, we want to remove any barriers of entry to get people back to work as quickly and safely as possible. Our message to the community and to the national film industry is we’re open for business and we have incentive dollars to support your work.”

Washington Filmworks will continue to accept applications for funding assistance until the available funds are exhausted. For more information on the program and how to apply, please review the Guidelines and Criteria.
