Washington Filmworks’ Executive Director, Amy Lillard, and Production Services Coordinator, Krys Karns, were thrilled to attend the 2014 Curvee Awards Gala and NW Honors held at the Renton Events Center. Kelley Balcomb-Bartok, Communication Specialist at the City of Renton, described the event as, “a genuine groundswell of passion for film and encouraging young people to experience the joy and rewards of film-making.” Adam Gehrke from Q13 FOX News was on hand to MC the event, and Lillard had the honor of presenting the Best Picture Award to the film Overlooked. In talking to the audience at the event, Lillard complimented the city of Renton for recognizing the economic and cultural benefits of hosting film production in the city.
