Seattle Deaf Film Festival – Call for Submissions

Deaf Spotlight is excited to host the 8th biennial Seattle Deaf Film Festival (SDFF) in Seattle, WA. Films will be screened at Northwest Film Forum from April 10 – 12, 2026. After the screenings, films will be streamed online for two weeks.

Films will be considered for inclusion in SDFF2026 if they meet at least 2 of the following criteria:

1. The film is made by a Deaf filmmaker and crew; AND/OR
2. The film features at least one authentic Deaf character; AND/OR
3. The film is relevant to the Deaf experience.

“Authentic” means having true representation of Deaf actors. Deaf roles must be performed by Deaf people. If hearing actors are cast as Deaf people, the film will not be considered authentic.
