Will Fredo is the creative moniker of Wilfredo Manalang, a Filipino-American filmmaker dedicated to bridging the personal and political through cross-cultural storytelling. While his work often takes him from his home in Seattle to film hubs across the globe, his practice remains rooted in a quiet commitment to amplifying Asian voices.

As a producer, Manalang has been fortunate on several internationally recognized projects. These include Plan 75 (2022), which received the Camera d’Or Special Mention at Cannes, and Don’t Cry, Butterfly (2024), recipient of the Grand Prize at Venice Critics’ Week. His portfolio further includes Topakk (Locarno 2023), Blue Room (Cinemalaya 2022), Through Your Eyes (Berlinale 2025), and Elsewhere at Night (FNC 2025).

His directorial work is equally varied, ranging from early thrillers like Compound to the flamenco-inspired drama In Nomine Matris. His documentary Traslacion was recognized at the SoHo International Film Festival NYC, and he has contributed to several beloved Philippine television series, including Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK), The Story of Us, and Bridges of Love.

An alumnus of EAVE Ties That Bind, APOSTLAB, Docs By The Sea, and the Asia Producers Network, Manalang finds purpose in collaboration. In his next chapter, he is turning inward to engage with his Northwest roots. He hopes to activate his global experience to enrich the local creative community, continuing to champion shared authorship in cinema.
