Megan Leonard (she/her)

Megan Leonard is an award-winning Creative Producer and Festival Programmer from Olympia, WA based in Seattle. Her most recent film, Dream Creep (d. Carlos A.F. Lopez), premiered in the Midnight Shorts Program at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and was deemed “The Scariest Short on the Festival Circuit” by Indiewire. The film is currently streaming on MUBI, Kanopy and Canal+ after its Oscar©-qualifying festival run.

She participated in the 2019 Sundance Creative Producing Summit and 2020 Sundance Talent Forum with the feature adaptation of her award-winning short film, Mixtape Marauders (d. Peter Edlund). The short received Short of the Week’s 2019 Comedy of the Year Award and was nominated for Vimeo’s 2018 Comedy of the Year. In 2021 she produced Occupational Hazard (d. Ursula Ellis), a West Virginia-set body horror for Hulu’s Bite-Size Halloween Season 2, and her 2023 projects Harbor Island (d. Calvin Lee Reeder) premiered at SXSW where it won a Special Jury Award and The Influencer (d. Lael Rogers) premiered at Fantasia.

Leonard started working for film festivals in 2010 and is currently the Festival Programming Manager at the Seattle International Film Festival. She previously programmed for Indie Memphis and DOC NYC, served as a mentor for Film Independent and SXSW, and reviewed projects for Vimeo’s 2025 Short Film Grant. In 2024 she was awarded a Special Citation for her service to filmmaking in the Pacific Northwest from the Seattle Film Critics Association.
