Mustafa Dustin Craun is a serial social impact entrepreneur, filmmaker, writer, and community organizer working at the intersection of narrative change, spirituality, and social justice. For over two decades, he has led transformative projects blending digital media, cultural production, and grassroots organizing to shape visionary futures for global Muslim communities.
He is the founder and executive director of the Center for Global Muslim Life, a Seattle-based research and storytelling organization building long-term narrative change across the Muslim world. CGML’s work spans global cities research, youth leadership, wellness, Islamic education, and public arts initiatives like the Prayer Rug Project and the Global Muslim Film Festival.
He also founded Beyond Borders Studios and and Beyond Borders Arts, a media and design studio specializing in brand storytelling, film production, and digital publishing.
Mustafa Dustin co-founded MPower Change, one of the largest Muslim youth-led social justice organizations in the U.S., and helped lead organizing at the Border Mosque along the U.S.-Mexico border. His films and writing on race, Islam, and decolonial philosophy have been featured in over 200 publications worldwide.
He is currently in pre-production for his first narrative feature, The Lighthouse Mosque vs. The Department of Homeland Security. He holds a bachelor’s in Ethnic Studies from CU-Boulder, a master’s from the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State.
