Gracen has been making films since she was in elementary school. After a cross-country move from Alabama to Washington, she leaned on storytelling to help ease her transition into what felt like a whole new world. She continued to make films throughout her education, studying filmmaking at Central Washington University with a focus in directing. During her time at CWU, she received the Photography award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, as well as a directing fellowship in Washington D.C. from the Kennedy Center American Theater Festival. Feeling inspired by the awkward and uncomfortable moments of the everyday, she gravitates towards stories that find the laughter under life’s growing pains. Through dark comedy, mockumentary, and horror, Gracen continues to find her voice as a young creative in the industry.
