South by Southwest, the massive annual music, film and interactive festival in Austin, Texas, wrapped on March 17. A delegation from Washington was in attendance to network and talk to filmmakers about what Washington State has to offer production.

Lance Weiler is challenging the ways that the motion picture content and audiences interact to create an immersive, transmedia experience. He believes that the next generation of motion picture content lies beyond the “fourth wall.” Each of Mr. Weiler’s projects explore the innovative potential of multiplatform storytelling.
MakerHaus is set to open early next year in Fremont, and will be one of the first businesses of its kind to come to Seattle. Part fabrication shop, part classroom, the organization is intended as a place for craftsmen, designers, fabricators, and other creators to work, learn, network, and build community.
