I’m a veteran Seattle-based filmmaker and production sound mixer. In 2010, I graduated summa cum laude from Seattle Central’s Film and Video program and previously earned a BA degree in Theater and Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Washington University and Fairhaven College.
My early creative life was rooted in live performance—I appeared in dozens of plays at WWU and performed Modern Dance and Performance art. For my senior project, I directed Sam Shepard’s Buried Child, a project that remains close to my heart.
I suffer from CFS/ME and Long Covid, which leads me to approach filmmaking with patience, fortitude, and deep empathy for others navigating unconventional paths. I’ve directed two feature documentaries exploring the experiences of Tlingit artists and musicians living in the Pacific Northwest and co-directed another about the miraculous rescue of a Jewish child in Holland during WWII. Commercially, I’ve produced many videos for local businesses, NGOs, and city programs focused on youth leadership and diversity.
My work often explores identity, resilience, and community. I believe that adversity can inspire films that speak honestly to our shared experience. I joined this Above-the-Line program to hone my skills in developing and directing noteworthy projects and building sustainable creative teams. I’m honored to be a member of cohort 3 and thrilled to collaborate with fellow filmmakers who share a commitment to telling authentic and powerful stories.
