The staff of Washington Filmworks took some time to enjoy a night of film, great company, and delicious food at Sprout, a locally sourced dinner in Seattle that funds creative projects with a vote. This was the 9th Sprout, but the first to focus exclusively on film and video artists.
Washington Filmworks has always considered commercial work to be a core competency in the Seattle area. We look forward to supporting the City of Seattle and the community partners in this endeavor. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

In late 2012, Washington Filmworks committed funding assistance to five projects helmed by emerging Washington filmmakers through the inaugural Film Cycle of the Filmworks Innovation Lab. Tony Fulgham’s Box Walk is the first of those projects to go into production.

Yesterday the series began making a lot of noise on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. In less than 10 hours the campaign known as the “Veronica Mars Movie Project” surpassed it goal of $2 million, potentially rewriting the way studios and filmmakers fund future endeavors.
