APPLY FOR 2016 FUNDING ASSISTANCE

Preliminary Application Window Opens January 4

Washington Filmworks will open a preliminary application window for the standard production incentive program on Monday, January 4.

Given the great work of the statewide film industry, Washington State has regained its national reputation as a home for motion picture production and there continues to be great interest in filming a variety of projects in Washington State.  Washington Fimworks is aware that there are more projects  interested in funding assistance than there are dollars currently available to allocate in 2016.  In our effort to give all qualified productions an opportunity to participate in this funding cycle, the Board will open a short window where projects can submit preliminary information about their projects for consideration.

Projects that are fully funded will be invited to submit an abridged version of the full application for the Washington Filmworks’ Board to review. The abridged application will include the 7-page application document, the top sheet of the budget and a letter from the applicant detailing why the project should be considered for funding assistance.  After receiving the paperwork, the Board will review each project and invite those projects that represent the best economic development opportunities for the state to submit a full application. Projects that plan to film at any time during 2016 are invited to apply.

The abridged application documents should be submitted to Executive Director Amy Lillard via email at Amy@WashingtonFilmworks.org no later than Friday, January 15, 2016.  Should you have any questions please call our office (206.264.0667) or email (info@washingtonFilmworks.org).

Please note that this application window is not for the Innovation Lab. For more information on the March 2016 Innovation Lab funding cycle visit this link.
